Myanmar, or Burma, is a booming destination that has some great surprises in store, both in terms of culture and landscapes. The country is constantly evolving and if you want to go there, it is advisable to prepare your trip well. Some tips for leaving well prepared!

Book your plane ticket

A trip abroad always begins with booking your plane ticket. The high season in Burma is in high demand, which is why it is better to plan well in advance to be able to travel on the desired dates. Please note that during peak periods, it is not uncommon for air traffic to be slightly saturated.

If you don't know how to book at the best price and on the most interesting dates, you can also use flight comparators, which are very present on the internet. You can compare hundreds of flights and airlines to get the best price.

Apply for a visa

A visa is required to travel to Myanmar. You have the option of applying for a classic visa, in which case you must go to the Burmese embassy in Paris.

It is now possible to apply for your visa online. This is called the e-Visa or electronic visa. Practical and quick to obtain, it does not require queuing for hours at the embassy. You take all the steps online and for 47 € (consular fees only), you will obtain a valid electronic visa, allowing you to travel to Burma. It takes just a few days to obtain. You can also use a specialist agency to help you obtain an e-visa. In this case, the agency will take care of all the formalities and become your privileged intermediary with the Burmese authorities.

Prepare a nice itinerary

There is so much to see in Myanmar that you won't have time to do it all during your stay. The best thing is to prepare a short itinerary including all the unmissable attractions of the country. It is recommended by all bloggers to take a trip to Yangon, the country's former capital.

In Myanmar, there are two “wonders” not to be missed: the Inle Lake And Bagan and its temples. Allow a few days to do everything because it’s definitely worth a look!

If you want to take in the sights, then head to Mandalay and its region to get your fill of superb panoramas.

Fill your suitcase with the essentials

As with many trips, you should bring comfortable and light clothing because temperatures can quickly fluctuate between 20 and 32°C. On the other hand, if you plan to take the boat or sail on Inle Lake, then think about the little wool! Essential because temperatures are cooler on the lake, especially in the morning and late afternoon.

Fun little detail but remember to bring flip-flops! For what ? Because if you visit the many temples in Myanmar, you are required, each time, to take off your shoes and socks. Which can get boring! With flip-flops you don't have this kind of problem and you no longer waste time.

The travel first aid kit is essential and remember to put mosquito repellent in it, although it is possible to buy it on site. On the other hand, no need for an adapter for electrical outlets. On-site outlets are compatible with European electronic and electrical devices.
